Online Weight Loss Programs

Current technologies always seem to advance lately thanks to everyone being wired and online, which should mean there is no surprise to world of weight loss programs. There have been a variety of diets specifically designed with the Internet in mind, especially people who work desk jobs or use the Internet constantly. Heres a few of the more interesting ones out there, just to give you a taste of the type of diets offered online today.

Shangri La Diet
This is listed first not because it is the best so much as it is the most unusual and possibly dangerous diet made popular through the advent of the Internet. The author of the diet, Seth Roberts, published the diet in 2004 to an entire spectrum of responses. From people hailing it will (and this is a direct quote, mind you) "benefit a few billion [people]" to claiming that is downright absurd. The world of internet bulliten board logs, or blogs, is really what has allowed this diet to take off in astronomical ways. Hundreds of blogs provide anecdotal evidence in support of the diet, but what actually is it?

This seemingly simple diet works as such: An hour before or after a meal, have three tablespoons of Extra Light Olive Oil. Because ELOO has no taste, it will lower your bodies set weight point by disestablishing taste with hunger. In any event, there really are not any studies done on this diet following the scientific method beyond Roberts own "self study" (which is an absurdity in the scientific world).

Hacker's Diet
Another one of the strange diets to become popular thanks to the Internet is the Hacker's Diet. It was written by John Walker, one of the founders of AutoDesk and software engineer. The diet is designed, in the most part, for obsessive compulsive problem softwares (like most programmers).

The diet works as basically a ridiculously extreme calorie counting. Dieters will take into account all of their bodies "Inputs", such as food and water, and all of their "Outputs", such as excrement and calorie burning. By looking at it from an engineering standpoint, dieters with a technological inclination are able to understand their body easier.
